I should total at least 120 km this week, including some runs at a good pace. So, I’d have to say I’m pretty much back to normal.
But I’m still way below an acceptable fitness level for racing, so I’ll have to work on that. I’ll do another time trial on Monday, this time around Centennial Park. My last lap of the park yielded a 17:24, which is pretty slow, but a good start. The obvious goal on Monday will be to get into the 16s. For the record, my fastest is 12:50 (back in the 80s), but I did run a 13:41 three years ago.
Here’s an example of Carmel’s creative photography from the world run. She took this from the comfort of the support vehicle on a cold day in South Dakota in May of 2012. This was real prairie land.
