I ended up totalling 125 km last week, which left me a little fatigued for my time trial around Centennial Park today. I thought I’d struggle, but I actually felt pretty good, lapping the park in 16:30. This was a big improvement on three weeks ago, when I went around in 17:24. To put it in perspective, a couple of weeks before the King Island race last year, I ran CP in 15:18. So I still have a way to go before I’m back to that level of fitness (which got me a 2:30:10 second place in that 32 km event), but at least I’m on my way.
I know you’ve seen this photo before, but it’s relevant – it was taken five years ago today. This was in Bratislava in Slovakia on the only day off I had during the entire 5,600 km run across Europe. That’s the Hud on the left (on my right) and Dave on the right. See how much fun you can have running around the world.
