As planned, I ran my 3 km time trial course this morning after a fairly quick 10 km warmup. With a 12:53 three weeks ago, I felt a 12:30 would have been a good result today. As it turned out, I stopped the clock at 12:12 (4:08, 4:09, 3:55). It was good to run the final kilometre in under four minutes. I have to admit, though, it’s not easy getting one’s speed back after a long enforced break from fast running.
Here are a couple of photos from the world run taken in the north of New Mexico on this very day six years ago. The journalist had driven out from Albuquerque to take some footage and do an interview, which appeared in one of the Albuquerque newspapers the following day.
