We rode a truly beautiful piece of coastline today, albeit very busy with traffic. It’s part of the Italian Riviera, from Menton (in France) to a small town called Quiliano, near Savona in Italy. The first 3 km were in France, with the rest in Italy. You can see the Garmin data on the link below.

We got to ride on a great bike trail either side of San Remo. The total on the trail was about 22 km. And the views of the Mediterranean were spectacular, particularly as we approached Savona. The total for the day was 125.8 km, with 1,304 metres of climbing. We’re now not too far off 100,000 feet of climbing in total for the trip.

Here’s another photo of me climbing Mont Ventoux the other day. This was taken about 3 km from the top. It really is a fantastic view from the top of this stand-alone, long extinct volcano. The peak is not much lower than Australia’s highest mountain.
