A magic day to finish a memorable cycling tour. We rode from Bormio to Varenna on Lake Como, before getting a ferry across to Bellagio, riding a further few kilometres to our hotel and the end of the cycling trip.

The day was almost all downhill and predominantly on dedicated cycle paths. Even though it was 136 km in length, it was a very easy day. The final 18 km was on a road, but it was a road that hugged the shoreline of Lake Como. You don’t get a ride that picturesque too often.

I’ll post again tomorrow with all the stats and other information about the overall tour. In the meantime, I have to get myself ready for the celebration dinner at a restaurant on the water in Bellagio – a fitting location for an ‘end of ride’ meal. But before I go for the day, happy 45th birthday to Michael Julian, and good luck to him in the half marathon he’s running tomorrow. I’m keen to hear the result.
