On this day six years ago I was running between the large Argentinian towns of Junin and Chacobuco. There’d been some heavy rain in in the region in recent days and there was lot of water laying about. I took a back road for a short while, which was a bit of a mistake because of the mud.
I also lost more than a kilometre when I had to backtrack (any backtracking distance doesn’t count when running around the world, and must be subtracted from your total). Despite the wet ground, it was a very nice day of running, as you can see from the first photo below. I’m just a little dot amongst the green fields.
