Seven years ago today I was back in Sydney briefly, preparing to head off to San Francisco with an expanded support crew – Carmel, Libby, and Jenny. There’ll be plenty of photos of that part of the world run in the weeks to come. In the meantime, I thought I’d post a few videos from the New Zealand leg.

The first is a segment that appeared on New Zealand National TV. It was filmed in Christchurch. It makes reference to Guinness World Records, although the world record is actually administered by the World Runners Association. The second is from the top of a mountain pass between Tauranga and Hamilton, the day before I met up with Chook. I hope they give you sense of what it’s like to be on the road in places you’ve never been to before.
