There’s only a week and half now till we head to Portugal, where I’ll begin my run across Europe – the third continent of my run around the world.
I continue to be plagued by the sore left heel. As mentioned, it only started after I arrived back in Sydney. It seems the less running I do, the worse it gets. Even walking sometimes hurts now. However, I’m confident it will be fine once I start running again in earnest. Well, that’s what I’m telling myself.
I’m continuing to enjoy the break, including celebrations for my mother-in-law, Dulcie’s, 95th birthday a couple of days ago. Once again, bushfires are wreaking havoc during the Australian summer, but thankfully no lives have been lost so far. The Bureau of Meteorology have had to add two extra colours to their maps to accommodate new record in-the-shade temperatures that were off the previous scales. The map scale now goes up to 54C (129F).
I’ll post more info re. the precise timing of my resumption of running when it comes to hand.
