Not having run fast for the past three weeks, along with the inevitable few kilos stacked on over the holiday break, I didn’t expect much from Monday’s faster session. I decided on a simple 1 km, and would have been happy with something around 3:55. So, I was surprised to stop the clock at 3:39, particularly as I wasn’t even at 100% effort. It augurs well for the months ahead.

Today’s photos are from just before and after my run through Christchurch NZ, around this time in 2012. We experienced multiple earth tremors during our time in and around the city, though I didn’t detect anything while I was actually running. It’s much easier to sense a tremor inside a building.
