I’m making good progress with my pelvic problem. The muscles definitely seem to be adapting and I’m noticing the improvement mostly when I’m running. The Achilles issue is still lurking, but at least I know how to cure that with a bit of rest, now that the underlying cause has been corrected. I doubt, however, that I’ll make it to the starting line on King Island, but I’ll still give that decision a bit more time.

The good people at Run Repeat have analysed the statistics from a whole heap of Australian marathon results since the beginning of this millennium and concluded that the times are getting slower. If you’re a runner, I strongly recommend you click on the link and have a read.
Following on from the photo in the last post, here’s an action photo from the Big Red Run last June. I can’t remember which day this is from, but I do know it was one of the first three days i.e. a marathon. I’m the one in second place here, although this wasn’t the leading pack. I think there were about six or seven others in front, although I did manage to work my way through the field to finish 4th on the day (which was my place on each of the first three days).
