The 2018 Big Red Run begins next week. I wish I could be there, but I’m far too busy at the moment. I’ll certainly be eagerly watching the results via the race’s web site, fondly remembering each and every day of racing. I consider my 3rd place last year as one of the greatest achievements of my running career. It’s an extremely tough course, made even tougher by the 250 km distance. I’m particularly looking forward to following any of my friends from last year who have chosen to back up again.

This photo is from five years ago today, taken near the ton of Kambalda in Western Australia, as I ran toward Norseman. The day before we’d dropped Grace at the Kalgoorlie Airport after she spent twelve days with us as I ran from Perth. Grace did 40 km of running with me during that time too. I’ve also included a photo of Grace and me taken in Kalgoorlie.
