I’m certainly experiencing a different running environment at the moment. I’m currently in Karratha for a few days, visiting Grace, and the maximum was 42 C yesterday. Today is expected to be almost as high, so it was a good thing I got my run in early. For those who don’t know where Karratha is, it’s in the northern part of Western Australia, inside the Tropic of Capricorn. Look it up on Google Maps.
I have to say, running today evoked strong memories of my run around the world. I’ve posted a photo below that I took while I was running this morning. The terrain is reminiscent of parts of the Arizona desert region and the Nullarbor Plain. It’s such a great change from city running and made me feel like embarking on another world run.
