As many will have already noticed from Facebook and Twitter, I have been selected as a finalist for the annual Australian of the Year award. This is a great honour, especially considering the thousands of nominations each year. I'm sure the other finalists are better credentialed than I am, but it is, regardless, humbling to make such a distinguished short list. Carmel and I will be attending an awards ceremony on November 18. Special thanks to Caroline Johnson for nominating me.

Carmel is in the process of going through about 50,000 of her photographs, culling and ordering them ahead of the possibility of a glossy coffee table book. She is finding the process to be very time consuming and daunting.

I'm still slowly getting faster in my running. I will soon test myself by running a time trial on one of my old courses. I'll then be able to compare exactly how I'm running in regard to past performances. I'll elaborate in detail when the times.
