As mentioned in the last post, I had concluded my South American transit by this time in 2012, and returned to Australia for a break. However, I was intermittently posting blogs, like the one below. The images below show the routes taken over three main legs of the world run to that point.

Distance today = 0 km; Total distance = 15,414.07 km; Location = Buenos Aires – 34 27.800′ S, 58 29.779′ W; Start time = n/a, Finish time = n/a
A quick update – I’m enjoying the rest, although it’s a two-edged sword. Going from 50 km per day to 5 km per day (just some maintenance running – it doesn’t count toward my world total) is a bit like it must be when going “cold-turkey” as a drug addict. The body goes through all sorts of physiological and biochemical changes, the effects of which are a bit disconcerting at times. It should wear off after a few days, though.
Have a look at the new video at the top of the Home Page. It’s a compilation of photos from the run so far – a year on the road. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
I will posting another report in a few days, outlining the plans ahead, including my expected recommencement date. Stay tuned.
