I’ve been corresponding with Jesper OlsenĀ of late, and he has given me some valuable insight into the recovery process after a world run – after all, he has completed two such runs. Jesper says it took him the best part of a year to recover after his last world run. Yes, it’s always possible to run, but to do so effectively and enjoyably requires a certain freshness that I don’t have at the moment. So, I’m going to take Jesper’s advice and take it easy for a while longer. As Jesper says, I’ll know when I’ve recovered, because I’ll feel keen to get out on the road and my legs will feel fresh when I run. As least I know it just takes time.
The web site for the World Runners Club has changed slightly. It is now www.worldrun.org/wrc. If you haven’t already, please click on the link and have a look.
Once again, have a great Christmas and New Year. I’m looking forward to an interesting year of running once I freshen up.
