Today is a fond date in my memory. Two years ago on this day I passed the Hearst Castle near San Simeon in California. It’s an amazing structure that was commissioned by the newspaper tycoon, William Randolph Hearst, and visited by all manner of movie stars, including Charlie Chaplin, Clark Gable, the Marx Brothers, Joan Crawford, Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart, and Bob Hope, as well as politicians like Presidents Franklin Roosevelt and Calvin Coolidge. One year ago I ran into Pamplona in Spain, passing by the scene of the Running of the Bulls.
Don’t forget to follow the current world runners: Tony Mangan on www.theworldjog.com and Kevin Carr on www.hardwayround.com. They both happen to be in India at the moment.
