Sorry for the lack of updates. The internet coverage in the desert has been very poor.

I’ll post more detail over the weekend, but for the moment I’ll simply report that the race has been unbelievably difficult, unbelievably enjoyable, AND, unbelievably, I’ve managed to wrap up 3rd place overall. I was very pleased with the result, particularly given the somewhat international field.

As mentioned, more to come over the weekend. In the meantime, here’s a photo of a sunrise at camp a couple of days ago. This was taken at the base of Big Red, the largest sand dune in the Simpson Desert.
