I am now on the last of my “interval” runs. This is where I’ve been building up to longer and longer runs that have been separated by a one minute interval of walking. The rehab process has required this routine. As of Monday, however, all my runs will become continuous, starting with 30 mins, and increasing by 5 minutes every two days. Very soon I’ll be doing long runs again. It’s tight, but I’m confident of getting to the starting line of the Oxfam 100 km event on May 2.
Have a look at this great You Tube clip that Oxfam sent me. I was chuffed to see they’d gone to so much trouble. http://youtu.be/Qyw1Q6MdmCM
On This Day: one year ago I was a day’s running from Dachau in Germany, where we visited the former concentration camp. Two years ago I ran through Monument Valley in Utah, dressing up as Forrest Gump at the precise bit of road where the filming occurred in the movie.
Remember, if you’d like to attend the on-line running event hosted by Boston Marathon Race Director, Dave McGillivray, visit http://bit.ly/1igc6hp. And the first 100 people to quote the code TNSTEPS obtain free entry. But consider making a donation to the worthy cause anyway, even if you are one of the lucky first few.
