Just 5 km into my run this morning I reached a major milestone – 150,000 km since I started logging my mileage on Feb 14, 1983. By the way, that’s 12,881 days, and I’ve averaged 11.65 km per day during that time. Obviously, the run around the world pushed the average up a bit.
It wasn’t until December 2011, just weeks before I began my world run, that I actually passed the 100,000 km mark. So I’ve managed another 50,000 km in the past six and a half years, after taking nearly 29 years to run the first 100,000 km. I guess one day I’ll have to ease off, but there’s no sign of that yet.
