I’m off to a flying start this week, with 42 km in the first two days. I can run relatively fast but choose not to, other than for very short stints. Yesterday’s run averaged 6:05/km, with a fastest of 5:37. That’s certainly not fast, but it’s acceptable.
The only thing I’m reluctant to do yet is a really long run. I feel I’m still compensating a little with a slightly abnormal running style. Too much compensation leads to other problems, so I’ll only gradually up the distance over time.
I’m off to King Island tomorrow for work, so I’ll get a chance to run in a different location again. However, it also means that I’ll have to keep the distances to a minimum, as I won’t have a lot of time to run while travelling.
This photo is topical – it was taken exactly five years ago today on the Pampas of Argentina. I can remember it like it was yesterday. Once again, you can see how flat the terrain is.
