As mentioned in the last post, I’m taking it fairly easy, as far as running goes, for the rest of the year. In fact, I’m going to follow a program designed by a specialist running physio for Achilles injuries. It’s a four week program, so it will take me up to Christmas. I expect to be as good as new and raring to go by the New Year, with a pain free Achilles for the first time in a year and half.

The photos below, from this day six years ago, illustrate just how flat much of Argentina is. You can also see what I mean about the shoulder of the road when the grass is long. In the third photo, I’ve stopped in the long grass while a bunch of traffic went by. I just found it too difficult lifting my knees high enough to run through thick long grass. It was easier to stop until the traffic abated.
