I’ve been running well these past couple of weeks, with my chronic Achilles issue gradually subsiding. But today, for no apparent reason, and despite a nice easy pace, it suddenly got very sore again. The only thing I can put it down to is a bit of scar tissue breaking off. I’m icing it now. Hopefully it will only be a short and minor setback.

On this day six years ago I crossed from Pennsylvania into New York State. Below are some photos from that day, as well others from the previous few days in Pennsylvania. These include when I ran with a couple of local girls for a short while, and another when a journalist from the Erie Times came out on the road to do a story on me.
